Involuntary Attraction
Involuntary Attraction
How am I to handle this?
Loving you,
knowing we could never be.
I hate myself for loving you.
It’s insane, I know,
a secret admiration.
I wish I knew your thoughts about me,
but I will never know.
You must never know how I feel.
Everything about you pulls me in.
It’s an involuntary attraction.
Irrational and stupid,
is the love I have for you.
I’ve tried telling myself there’s no point,
no point in wanting you,
but it doesn’t help.
When you’re not around I’m anxious, uneasy, sad,
but when I see you I am floating on a cloud, in a dreamy state.
This love is like a treasure chest,
Hidden in a special place,
deep inside my heart.
That’s where it will stay,
all my days.
Only God and I will know...
The love I have for you.
