Rescue
the moon laughs in my face
as sleep escapes me
my body begs for recovery
yet my mind pleads rescue
in the night sky
it is easy to picture what was
and what will never be again
somewhere there is comfort
in the depths of my head
I'll search with determination
but time passes with a sneer
and the earth trembles beneathe my bed
eyes on the ceiling look to me for answers
but I have questions of my own
they pester me with warfare
when all I want is peace
