What if we were running leaves in the wetlands
What if we never worried about what others thought
What if we only said what we truly meant
As we all flew along on the breeze

Going where we were taken by freedom
But never trying to forge a new path
Our fates decided for us
Leaves tossed and turned by the storm

Battered by rain but still honest
Broken but holding each other up

That's what I dreamed when you were living
But I'll never be more than a skittle
What if we were running leaves in the wetlands?
