where I began

Tortured summer,
heartless rain,
and I'm right back where I began.
The roots I walk on are my own.
Scorched hearts,
ruthless tears,
and I'm right back in the pain.
These burns with only me to blame
Roads so traveled,
they've lost their name,
and they are right back where they were laid.
They’re traveled all the same.
Flooded valleys,
dried out plains,
and you are right back in his burning arms.
You love him all the same.
Fool.
You’re right back where you began.
