The light dims
June 29, 2009
though the future bright
it slowly dims
our voices muffled
our faces grim
haunted are we
as the future will be
the children we are
leaders we’ll be
told to sit straight
to listen and learn
though never we shall
for the burdens burn
passed down the line
we carry them high
but now we stumble
for the ground has crumbled
apart we are falling
the nation not strong
the future dark
with just a small light
