Forget Me Not

Memories dance like pollen
wild and free
of the time when
life bloomed
and laughter spread
its wild roots
among the soil

but all it is is memories
crunching leaves
and fallen petals
wilting under
winter's icy touch
death is nothing
the living breathe
but gone is the one
who was with you

so lie at my grave
the flower of crowns
that kissed our temples
and promised love

give it freely
perfectly to me
a loyalty in the everlasting

forget me not
