Ode to Hunger
Oh hunger why do you make me this way
When I’m just itchin’
Can't wait any longer
I need to, have to, want to
Get my fixin’
It doesn't have to be anything new
Oh hunger why do you make me this way
Same old burger will suffice
Even pizza with cheese
Please lord just let it be
Please lord let me get a slice
I'll pay any toll or fee
Oh hunger why do you make me this way
Shall I order and it be delivered
Or should I drive and let fate decide
This couch sure is comfy
But it's nice out and I can't be shivered
I should go out and not be a mummy
Oh hunger why do you make me this way
Oh hunger you make me get my keys
Oh hunger you take all my money
Oh hunger you cannot be shaken
Oh hunger you bring me to my knees
Oh hunger bring me a biscuit, flakin’
Return to the Mac
I hop in my car only one thing in mind
To find me a meal so fair and so kind
I don’t have to travel far to the Burger King
I only have to go five minutes to get a wing
As I drive down the road
A burger crosses my mind or does a tender
I can’t decide,should I flip a coin
Kentucky fried, with mashed potatoes on the side
I am so undecided, I can’t focus on the ride
When the chili and the fries join
When it comes to food I cannot resist a bender
And my hunger is clear not code
I pull into the Taco Bell
Unknown are my deciding factors
What will I order I cannot tell
The worker hits me with a question I cannot combat
Can I get uhhh…
Clinging on for dear life as the question is popped
Half of me want this but, the other half
As I go to speak my mind goes blank
Later I will compare this to Napoleon being stopped
Under pressure worse than any comedian needing a laugh
Plays running out, clock winding down, failing like an engine to crank
Always clutch, like Mike in his prime, Chalupa
The Aftermath: Collection of Cinquains(Crapsey)
Restraint
Waiting
Desire burns great
Cannot be without one
Arms reach out for another but
A divider
The bag
Reception
It comes
Into my hands
With grace I hold the gift
The smell welcomes my nostrils
I reach into the bag
My hands feel for
Taco
Reveal
Good god
The Chalupa
Immaculate taco
I cannot resist the taco
I sit in its glory
Please give me more
The bell
Chalupa
The flakes just fall of the tortilla
Like snowflakes in the december sky
The cheesy melted and soft
Soft like freshly washed sheets
Beef battered in the best season belonging to a Bell
Shall I save the spectacular showing sitting steadily
Will I waste wonder and unleash wrath upon the worth
Deciding to devour the dish was delightful and decided
Tongue dancing with joy
Every bite talking to me
Sour cream pale as a ghost
Until there was nothing
Regret
Shame crosses my mind as the carnage is bestowed upon me
I can no longer deal with the loss
Something this swell cannot be lost to the world
As a tear sheds my eye baja blast fills my mouth like a well
All I can say is goodbye, goodbye to the best I ever hadd
