I Get It!

Abandoned, lost,
Hurt, confused,
Hopeless, broken,
Bumped, and bruised.

I was in the dark
And constantly ill.
I needed love
That my pain couldn't kill.

I was mad.
I felt beaten.
But I found Hope!
God was my beacon!

It clicked that these wounds
Would only make me stronger!
God was teaching me,
I was confused no longer!

Even though I couldn't hear.
Even though I still had fear.
God showed me compassion
In an unusual fashion!

In order to gain,
I had to lose.
In order to grow,
I had to bruise.

At that moment of understanding,
I caught a glimpse of what God was planning.

I cried out with love,
Giving it to my Creator.
He wiped my slate clean;
My Father, my Maker.

Abandoned, lost,
Hurt, confused,
But all that pain,
He took on the cross!

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem during a missions trip. We were told to sit and listen for God. I have been struggling with Epilepsy for almost 2 years, and I felt God telling me to put my pain on paper!
