When You Held Me.
I know what it is like to be scared
So terrified of the world
Hearing things that should never be told
Seeing things that should never see daylight
But whenever you held me I didn't care
Nothing could hurt me then
Drownding out the sounds of the world
Listening to the beat of your heart
Not seeing anything around me
Closing my eyes and feeing the rise and fall of your breath
Feeling protected and safe
Even for just a moment
Once again I am threatened
With no safe place to go
Maybe you aren't who I thought you were
Maybe I made a mistake feeling that way
And I know you aren't as safe as I felt
But it still hurts
All I want is for you to hold me tighter
All I can do is try not to cry
As I am forced to back away.
