Alone sad and cold
He plays the violin
The skeleton in his dark state with nothing in his mind.
Standing. Thinking. Playing a song of death.

In the eerie glow you see him
A light shines in the dark to show his true colors.
In the moment, he looks to his violin
He plays a flat note here and there, here and there for the dead.

A light shines in the dark to show his true colors.
His bones shaking to the beat
He plays a flat note here and there for the dead.
When you hear the sound of the violin, you know he is near.

His bones shaking to the beat
Alone, sad and cold.
When you hear the sound of the violin, you know he is near.
The skeleton in his dark state with nothing in his mind.

The author's comments:
My inspiration was a post card with a picture of a skeleton playing the violin. I study archeology and am interested in bones, pottery shards and ancient peoples. I also study voice, play piano and the organ. This poem is a combination of some of my interests.

I am very impressed that feelings so deep could come out of this young man. I am sure his parents are very impressed. Keep up the good work.
