The Day Before Summer At Brown Betty
Brown Betty’s Jeans Road Trip took my taste buds on an adventurous road trip
A long ride from West Philly to try something I knew nothing about
I’ve been to other bakeries before and had brownies cakes and so on
As I walked down Liberties Walk in Northern Liberties
I smelled Brown Betty calling me
I had the feeling that I was in my grandma’s kitchen
I saw wonderful cakes in the display cabinet
I saw cake batter that was being whipped
Then I sampled a Red Velvet and Hey Thelma
Mel ordered me Jeans Road Trip
it was nice warm and made to perfection
I took one bite and I went on a southern road trip
And when I took my last bite
I came back to the north to end my road trip

Well done on yet another really wonderrul poem. The way your wrote about the desserts make me want to visit the cake shop myself.
Congrats on being a fine poet and a published poet.
