Life
I am from powerpuff girls and small dressed up barbie dolls
From greased up diners and big Jersey Shores
I am from Dr. Seuss's books and a theme colored preschool
From purple itchy sweaters and Dad's weekly family parties
I am from small pools and big backyards
From getting up early and going to school
I am from captain crunch and strawberry shortcake bowls
From all the memories on the playground,
When being safety patrol was a big deal,
Just a bunch of memories now, that will bloom another day
I am from Ritas and Munchies right down the street,
From hot summer days and breezy beach moments
I am from a yellow house and loud neighbors,
From a long street and an old brick school
I am from a cold season to a warm moist season
From ducks in the lake and a pizza store right across
I am from a big turkey dinner and a white Christmas
From sunny bright mornings to cold gloomy mornings
I am from Wendie's frosties and loud cars passing by
From old friends and making new fun friends
I am from manhunt and hide and seek,
From hopscotch and lenghy hand clap games
I am from a small family and a quiet sister
From bizarre South Plainfield moments,
That will always be with me.
All of the good times and the bad
Iced cold lemonade on hot summer days
Loud laughter and quiet conversations
Through the laughs and tears,
These memories will live on
