I never thought that time

would pass so quickly

I never thought that I would wish

that I didn’t have to grow up
I never thought that happiness

took so much energy to achieve
I never thought that imperfection
is as perfect as it gets

I’m too busy running by

full speed ahead
Always looking at the future

and forgetting to remember the past



I never thought the world

had so much to figure out still

I never thought about the astonishing amount

of people that are on this earth
I never thought about the many wonderful lives

that I will never know
I never thought about how diminutive I really am

compared to this crazy galaxy we live in


I’m too busy focusing

on my life and what matters to me


I think I’m going to start thinking

about the more important things
