Here we go, on the road, headed Northwest.
Bright lights are the view beyond the headrest.
Darkness covers the roads and the empty sky.
It's hard to smile when you really think you're gunna cry.
I don't wanna go, but I just can't stay.
I wish that there, was some other way.
Baby, baby I want to let go.
But there's so much I can't let you know.
If I let you know my hearts gunna break.
What kind of feeling are you gunna take?
I can't make you feel like you're killing me too.
That's just something I can't put you through.

So now we passed that old green sign.
That says; Splendora 7 and Houston 45.
I sink beyond what the seatbelt is really for,
and I try not to stare too much at the floor.
Last few minutes together is a memory.
It's hard to spend it needing so much sympothy.
Baby, baby I want to let go.
But there's so much that I can't let you know.
If I let you know my hearts gunna break.
What kind of feeling are you gunna take?
I can't make you feel like your'e killing me too.
That's just something I can't put you through.

It's time to say goodbye, for now my dear.
By now my vision is anything but clear.
I'd take the view of the headrest any day.
Just to be together, driving on our way.
You're killing me, cuz you make me complete.
And I can't be with you, no, I'm lookin at the street.
This road seems so much longer when you're not by my side. But I'll see you another time. I wish I could stay.
But tonight there's no other way.
