My Desire

December 8, 2008
By Kayla Bennett, Charlotte, TN

My desire,
is for the world to change,
for life to thrive,
and there to be less pain.
Children suffer,
and adults overdose,
what happened to the love,
everyone held so close?
The standard of living,
is unatainable,
that being the reason,
our streets are full.
Raising children,
seems to be a burden,
so they cry and live alone,
with a down turned chin.
My desire,
is for people to understand,
that there is more to life,
than beat and command.
My desire,
is to understand,
why there is no one there,
to hold their hand.
