Beauty knows no face

Beauty knows no face
Never constant, neither in time or place
But the eyes, windows to the soul
Be they blue, green, or black as coal

If the eyes could lie, who would know?
No indication, friend or foe
If in the eyes, no truth did show
Tis not the eyes, but the face aglow

The author's comments:
I wrote this to show my personal opinion of beauty. I used to believe it resided in the eyes, I know know that beauty is a lie.
