During the Nighttime Rain
The nighttime rain beats softly here,
That swallows land in brutal fear,
With strikes and splinters, moans and cries,
Clouds peel away, withdrawing eyes
And draws earth through unwanted lies.
The rain cast waves, a painted smear,
This withered all that's living near -
Clouds blind and sightless, yet they rise -
The nighttime rain.
A flash of light did soon appear,
Through melting clouds it soon was clear,
A memory of faded lies.
With vibrant sun washing the skies,
Now only a flamboyant tear,
The nighttime rain.
