Dear Basement,

You’ve frightened me for years upon years

Blocking me from conquering my fears

Entering without knowing what lies ahead

My bravery becoming thinner than a thread

The monsters and demons I was scared to meet

Had me entering you with cold feet

I would run as fast as I could

Hoping it would do me some good

At one point, I took a stand

To retake my land

I had to defeat the evil that lurked

Putting my foot down really worked

I faced my fears and entered your domain

Realizing my perception was insane

I maneuvered you, the lair

Realizing I did it without a care

I entered with fright

And escaped into the light

I finally conquered my biggest fears

It sadly took me many years

Your victim, Shivam
