Forever Will I Wander
I am a traveler,
forever will I roam.
Wandering from place to place,
forever without a home.
From the highest mountain's peak,
to the deepest canyon's gorge,
the forgotten road I seek,
and my own path I forge.
From the deepest forest's depths,
to the prairie's most arid plain,
to the grassland's eternal steppes,
and tundra, where all is the same.
From the marshland's silty loam,
to the crashing waves of the coast,
but never to the simple home,
that which I desire the most.
From the highland's misty moors,
to the wetland's stagnant water,
to the ocean's sandy floors,
and the deserts, ever hotter.
To all these places I have traveled,
and all of them I have left behind,
perhaps one day I'll visit them again,
if only in my mind.
I am a traveler,
forever will I roam.
For the road leads me on and on,
but never leads me home.
