Seeing the change
and looking through your eyes
makes it hard to walk away
easy to look past the lies

The truth reveals
a renewed promise
a whole new understanding
a different kind of kiss

I'll always be here
you can ignore or love me
I'll get fed up
lost with you
wondering if at all you can see me.

Or I'll love you back
with all my strength and self will
because like this I can't leave you
being without you just kills

Maybe I don't have the strength
to leave.
But when I'm strong and ready
you look up and see.

Then I crumble like dust
drained of all my strength and self will.
but a part of me makes sure you understand.
What you did to me that killed.

So we go around this pattern,
and now you're willing to see
Past the habit
Past the fog.
And I know I can't leave
