Black roses
My true, my chosen
Black velvet in your petals
So curious and mysterious
Your gravitational pull, your force
Feeds off my desires ...
And I run to your repellent appearance
A salty rain leaks from its source, me
I can’t stop my ache, inside are screams
Pleas from my soul that I’ve lost control
But I can’t turn my back to you,
You’re what I know ...
And I need to walk away from you
Turn away, get away.
Hints of purple, traces of blood
Flash before your background, shadowed memoirs
My bruises bleed, so naive
Me; in this state; I’m devoured completely
And then the clouds clear, I find strength is so near
And your black begins to crumble,
It lightens to shades of gray
Your stems grow humble and slowly fade away
With gained strength to glance back
I find you dead and wilted.
I’ve won today, crushed velvet you will stay.
