The Way We See
The way he sees me,
Different than anyone else.
He sees past the bad hair,
The Freckles, cheap makeup, and braces.
Not "more than a friend".
Just a friend, sister, one to talk to.
Not the way I see him.
Everyone sees a bad appearance,
But I see deeper than that.
I see beautiful.
We see differently,
And that is okay.
But I hope one day we see the same.
We will see beautiful in each other,
And forget what everyone thinks.
I hope he will tell me when that happens,
So we can both see.
Not only see,
But feel.
Feel the same for each other.
When that happens,
I'll be ready.
But for now,
He will look,
And I will see.
