he treats her right
he can see the whole world in her eyes
he holds her hand, brushes her hair back with his fingertips
he's not what she wants
she smiles, tries to convince herself its real
she forces a coarse laugh when he tells a joke, if only he knew
she doesnt't want to rip the seams of his heart
she's exactly what he wants
the way he touches her, it's what any girl would dream of
but she doesn't notice
he's not what she wants
she's exactly what he wants.
they're both intimidated by the truth because it has the capacity to hurt,
so they lie.
