There is a light on in my room MAG

By Anonymous

there is a light on in my room.
it is how I can see through
the den
(midnight obscurity),
and the elegant white
walls sigh
(they reflect it, you see).
there is a light on in my room.
to conserve energy
i pulled only the
gold corded pink light
bulb
my father bought for me
(at five)
so I wouldn’t be afraid of
worms in my stomach as a result of
biting my fingernails. (someone told me
if you swallow the bitten nails they turn into
worms
in your stomach but I
now know this isn’t true although it’s
an interesting
theory.)
there is a light on in my room.
i try and focus on it (yet) my eyes
dart to the window as i’m
always nervous that an old man stands
watching me
in our backyard
(peering through the tall glass windows
fingers pressed against the air.)
there is a light on in my room.
i did not remember
turning on any lights other than the
pink one,
but my room!
lit like the face of a
child.

Live in the present, remember the past and fear not the future, for it doesn't exist and never shall. There is only now." _Christopher Paolini, Eldest

Really interesting though I'm not quite sure what was going on.
