Through The Eyes Of a Child
She was walking down the forest path,
to find her best friend Tom,
ducking under willow trees,
so as not to be spotted by mom.
With a cupcake for the two of them,
she walked along this trail,
Come summer,
through the gruesome heat,
Come winter,
through the hail.
Many years have passed since then,
this young girl's twenty three.
She's standing in a wedding dress,
under the old willow trees.
The sun shines bright,
the wind is calm,
and by her side,
stands her husband Tom.
Cruel and sweet,
yet so pure and wild,
true love is best seen
through the eyes of a child.
