A Spring Day

Leaping down the trail on a spring day,
flowers bloom everywhere you look
and birds chirp and children play,
giggling.
The smell of fresh air blows in the breeze
and silver petals slowly move off the steam,
struggling to stay on for they’re so
fragile.
How people wish this weather would last forever—
adults try to act
like children at heart.
How they wish they could be young again.
