The Dream

Cave extending into forever,
A pinpoint of light marks the entrance.
I start, start walking.

Panting follows me,
Trails me.
I won’t look back.

Behind me it growls
Frustrated, angry,
Lacking attention.

It vaults over me
Landing neatly in my path,
A lion.

Eyes glow
It circles me,
Closing in.

I run,
Run from my fears,
From my tormentor.

And again it is in front of me.
Toying with me,
It’s food.

The cave is my house, and the lion is someone who dominates my entire life.
