Who is a hero?
They
so casually
open the door
break the lock
slide their fingers in the crack
so easily,
so thoughtlessly,
proudly they subject
the ideals of many
onto the renegade few
applauded,
lauded
with praise and acknowledgement
what about...us?
those isolated few,
beating a path;
abandoned,
but continuing onwards bravely.
Doubtful success
and empty promises
are fuel for our drive
so why then
are they
the heroes?
