The Birds

June 4, 2009

Incapable of changing destiny
Emerging from their shells without a choice
Given the illusion of being free
Thinking the skies will carry on their voice

Attempting perfection with shameful falls
Defense without a mother's cover
They pollute the air with their wretched calls
Scouting skies for a pre-programmed lover

They prey on the weak from the air above
Carrying corpses to their secure nest
The hording chicks show each other no love
Struggling to survive in nature's test

Flocks migrating when the time arises
Leaving behind life's pleasant surprises
