on the edge
The barren windy cliff ledge
 Her black stained converse
Peering out over the earth wanting to reverse
 The pain and anger
 Welled up inside her
 She can’t stand her reflection
 Never having any protection
Bruises hidden from people who might care
By the shaggy tangled blonde hair
 She ran from her past
But is scared of the shadows her future might cast
 The sun sets overhead
 In shades of fiery red
 Victim of abuse
 From drug overuse
 The fifteen years of pain
 Drove her insane
Jumped to the ground in a fast hurl
 Now lies this girl
 Broken and lifeless
The world left her in a mess
 Cops finally get there
 Its not fair
 Parents look down
 They stand with fake frowns
 On the edge
 The barren windy cliff ledge
