Oh how I sit here
For minutes, hours, and days
Trying sincerely
To write something significant
Something vigorous
That is worthy of being published

Oh what could I write about
That will snare the attention of readers?
Maybe something lucid, something brief
Something spine-crawling creepy
Something that rolls onto the canvas paper
Like water leaking off my hands

Oh how unique should they be?
How peculiar should they seem?
Using words that inspires the minds
Of true writers, true, potential-ridden writers.
Words like "contradiction" or "contravene"
Or using different figures of speech
Leaving reader's mouths open, face so close to the monitor
Shocked, appalled, astonished, stunned, aghast, amazed, astounded.

Oh how I sit here
Pondering my brain
For words that won't emerge
From my schema
Trying so hard
To write out of my comfort zone

Oh give me something to interpret
For I'm stuck here at this window
For I'm curled up on this hardwood floor
Looking for things to deliberate
