Being A Giant
If I were born a Giant, I’d be 3’6’’ at birth,
And as I grow I’d come to know that I could shake the earth.
At 10 I would be 6’5’’, maybe taller than Yao Ming,
But I know that I would not be able to fit on a swing.
I could carry two friends on my shoulders, small and laughing away.
I could also be the fastest runner, with my stride to keep them at bay.
Clothes would be more expensive though, since this is a new size.
Low ceilings would be a hassle, and small doors would trap my thighs.
At least I could lift boulders out of the way when there is a rock slide,
But even so, fitting in the car would only crush my pride.
Writing would be out of the question; I would need a bigger pen
So I guess I’m glad I was born as I was; being big is a kick in the shin.
