An unseen creature of darkness
Its presence is felt everywhere
The dark cloud emerges from the body
It floats unsuspecting through the air
Looking for its next life to change
Blind to the problems its poison creates

It seeps into the victim’s skin
Taking over all rational thinking, a parasite
Making its new home, forcing upon you unwanted emotions
Of love, hurt, hope, joy and despair
A beast of split personalities
Instilling in you the longing you never wanted

Never did you feel the way you feel now
The soul trapped in a room
The waters of confusion rising higher
The mind reaches a state of turmoil, chaos
Harder and harder it gets to breathe
You gasp for air. Does a way out exist?

Doomed, lost and without hope
The light once known well
Now seems far away and unfamiliar
Drifting in and out of consciousness
A bright light arises from the unknown
And you are trapped no more

A hole appears and the waters rush out
The soul mate found, everything is good
Happy heart made of fragile glass
Held proudly on a unsteady pedestal
Happy heart falls, shattering into millions of unhappy pieces
The darkness of love has destroyed again

Doomed, lost and without hope
The light once known well
Now seems far away and unfamiliar
Drifting in and out of consciousness
This time no bright light appears
And you are trapped once again

As your last breath slips away
The darkness of love continues to play

This poem is 100%, pure and total awesomness! I love it! I was hooked with the first line! I wosh there was a word good enough to describe it!
