Dust
Look at the mirror.
All covered in dust.
The pieces are shattered.
The edges are rust.
The corner is broken.
The edges are stained.
There’s marks all across it
And the bottoms got paint.
Now pull out your make-up
And what do you do?
You look past the dust.
You look at you.
You see what’s behind
All that orange colored rust.
You see what’s beyond
That layer of dust.
You ignore all the marks
And the broken bits.
You pay no attention
To the paint that’s on it.
You sit by the mirror
And you put on you blush,
Because you were able
To see past the dust.
