He Told Me In Whispers

"Don't break me," he asked me, "I've been broken too many
times to recover from this one.
"You've got me, kid. There's no going back because there's no way that I'm missin'
out on this chance at something that's real,
something that could last forever.
"I knew from the second we spoke to each other, that you deserved something better
than the way he treated you,
it's true.
You know you weren't good together.
"So answer me this, dollface, you want space?
Or you want I should make you some dinner?"
