Sophie
So sweet I simply really can’t resist
I love you so much I can’t keep away
Why do I care so much, perhaps a list?
Brown eyes, wet nose, your smile here to stay
I know you’ll always love me just as much
Completely care free but still so intent
Your loving heart, you love us all too much
When it gets unpleasant you are content
You smile with your heart and touch my soul
Sophie you are my only number one
Your passing took from my heart a great toll
Since your passing their seems to be no sun
My sweet heart you are more than just a dog
Since you left I feel like such a hollow log

The author's comments:
Dedicated to Sophie. You were and still are my world, have and still do miss you every day of my life. You are more than just a departed pet, you are everything to me, and so much more.

I was writing in iambic pentametor, if you look closley it is in sonnet form, 14 lines of 10 syllables each. Iambic pentametor is a rhyme pattern of a b a b c d c d e f e f g g. Its not perfect, but it is meaningful to me.

It was really good, but dont sacrifice great imagry for ryme. In a poem, imagery is the most important thing you have. It is a really sweet poem though
