You say lets just be friends,
But I'm done making amends.
It hurts when your here,
And it hurts when your gone;
But what hurts even more,
Is knowing I'm not the one.
You never could see,
What was right in front of your eyes;
Shrouded in darkness
By too many lies.
I've tried so hard to rip
The covers off your face.
Just as soon as i got one,
There were more in its place.
I gave you my heart,
As a beacon of light.
A shining star
In your endless night;
But you just left it there
To burn out bright.
