with hot chocolate tears
a sweet whispering fire
and straight jacket sobs.

Fearful of the sun’s coming
for the burning waves
of light burn and chap
the heart
until it turns to ash.

But while wrapped in
the moon’s light blanket
the lesion can be healed
as a shooting star passes
and a memory burns.
