I looked to the sky, for any hope
But alas, of late it is gone
Because the moon is backing away

I looked to the earth, for any hope
But so sad
The grass is all dead

I turned my face to the wind, for any tingle of laughter
But oh no
The song was not riding it’s wing

So I sat and watched the fire die
Hoping.
