Surrounded by a fog of ignorance
Blinded by the darkness of intolerance
Weighed down by insensitivity
Different is wrong
At least that’s what I am told
Without difference what are we?
Normalcy, a face in the crowd
Another person no different then the one before me
Not I
I refuse, fighting the ever growing idea of ordinary
The constant desire to be accepted by society
I will combat the strong current of regularity
Like a salmon I will struggle in order to overcome
Using my endurance and desire in order to be truly free
I will not become one of the enslaved
Where mainstream ideals act as shackles
Forever trapping the population
In the large cage we call our country
The chains must be broken
We can overcome these atrocities
It will not be effortless
And the simplicity of hope will accomplish nothing
Peaceful action can bring about change
In the on going struggle between right and wrong
Written thousands of times
Where good must rise up and conquer evil
Conformity is Goliath
Nonconformity is David

Aww, I like the strong message here! I hate it when my parents expect me to do this and do that and be like this and act like that, etc etc. Like typical Asian parents I hafta be a lawyer or doctor or somebody big but I just wanna write. It's great to see you can write out your feelings. Keep it up!
