All Because…

All because of one man,
Our lives have been affected.
All because of his decisions,
And delusions,
We had to suffer.

All because of our beliefs,
We were treated,
Differently,
Harshly,
And were degraded.

All because of our religion,
We were restricted.
No longer were we allowed,
To enjoy the normal life.
No longer were we allowed,
To laugh and play.

All because…
Many died.
All because…
Families were separated,
and torn apart.

But….
All because of these events,
Our world has grown.
All because of the inspiring survivors,
We have been touched.
All because,
of one man’s mistakes.

The author's comments:
As a class this year in English we were studying Anne Frank, and her story, and journal really inspired me to write. So this poem geared towards the jews who were treated so horribly. I have really gained a deep respect for those who stand up for their beliefs. They have changed the world for good!
