The Earth Asked The Sky

tell me something, she said sternly to the sky
if it's sunny and blue sky-ed will you love me still?
and when it rains and thunders and storms
will you still smile down at me, and whisper that i'm beautiful?
well the earth turned it's shoulder
and said to the sky
that they could no longer be friends
and the sky turned to weeping
then the rain never ends
soon the earth produced flowers
fragrant and free
so the sky paused in crying
and looked down to see
there, silent and still
was the earth with it's flowers
and a smile with will
