Summer
Great green leaves
Vivacious and vibrant
Reaching out from under the deep brown dirt
Following along
the sky-high slender stalk
A skyscraper amidst an empire of ants
We meet a flower
But not just any flower
A flower of the brightest of reds
Like a ruby glistening
In the calming rays of the sun
Drops of its warmth
Caressing the soft petals of the flower
Venturing to the center
We find the soft yellow pollen
Perfectly complementing the bold red blossom
As you lean in towards it,
you feel
hear
smell
see
taste
SUMMER.
