Swerve and Curve

May 22, 2009

You swerve and curve
Up and down the streets.
I push off the ground
If I need more speed.

You grip my feet,
Holding them strong
TIll the end
With no sign of relent.
Yes, I thank you,
My friend.

I stomp on you,
And you jump in the air.
Soaring peaceful,
Like an eagle,
With no worries, no cares.

With no confidence flowing,
I drop into the bowl.
But we know we will win,
Because that's how we roll.

I wrote this for an English assignment where we had to personify an object in a poem.
