Cherry Blossoms
CHERRY BLOSSOMS
Their sweet aroma fills the air,
I take a moment to savor the fragrance,
I wait awhile to open my eyes,
To grasp my surroundings.
Their beauty astounds me as I gaze upon them,
I stand beside a marvelous tree,
With its branches outstretched to me,
I think to myself no wonder they have their own holiday.
Their blossoms are velvet on my fingertips,
As I feel the delicate flowers,
I pluck one off the limb and place it in my light brown hair,
I hold my breath as I slide it in place.
At the Cherry Blossom Festival,
The pink petals fall from the heavens like rain,
And I marvel at the beauty God created in them,
And wonder how such a thing could be formed.
