I ask them to take a song
And let it wrap around them
And shelter them from the cold

Or to drink from its hands

I tell them to let it take control
And put them in a trance
I ask them to preach its words
And breath its lies
And let it burn into their brain

I tell them that it will spread its wings
And keep them from getting wet

But alas like the deaf ears of the blind
They revolt against its prayers

Never cradling it like a babe
But letting it fall into the wind
