Race day
The sky’s are blue on race day
The grass is green and the mud is soaked.
It is the first race of the season.
Hopefully I don’t choke.
There is premium in the air for a reason.
My bike is prepared.
I line up at the start tensions all around.
I take off from the start and get a lead.
I’m forward bound and the tires digging in the ground.
I’m still in the lead on glorious stead.
Flying through the air
Jump by jump, turn by turn.
I look back and nobody is there.
I’m in the lead on my stead.
Around the last turn and into the air
I get the checkered flag.
I won the race and it feels great.
I move on to race another day.
