Goodbye Loved One
When someone you love suddenly dies
It’s too hard to say goodbye.
For what they leave behind with you
Is more precious than diamonds.
The memories that they left you
Are tucked safe away in your heart.
Yet, when you come to think of them
You can’t help the heavy tears that fall.
Special times with them are gone
And all the happiness that you shared.
The effects are like shrapnel
Cutting deeply into your tough skin.
They’re resting in the clouds now
Leaving you all on your own.
They taught you some of life’s lessons
And sent you on life’s road.
Do not fear the path you are on
For you will be watched over.
So put a smile in your heart
And be brave as you move forward.
