I am abandoned,
thrown out to be someone else’s problem.
I am alone.
I am cast out, alienated.
I am shunned, teased.
But not all hope is lost.
I have one.
I have you.

Why can’t I always see you?
Why can’t I always believe you?
Why can’t I always trust in you?
You are true, loyal.
You have never left me alone.
Your arms are always open, welcoming me in.

You give me life.
You give me hope.
You give me challenges to overcome.
But why?
Why am I still lonely?
Why am I unsatisfied?
Why?
Lonely.

You can be my all, but I refuse to let you in.
Why?
Why do I choose to be alone?
Why does nobody accept you?
Why won’t anybody accept me, if I follow you?
My only passage is blocked.
I crawl deeper and deeper into my hole, my state.
You send me angels, I ignore them.
You send me hope, I refuse to believe it.
You provide food, I refuse to eat it.
You provide water, I refuse to drink it.

Oh, but I want to.
I want to be in your arms,
in your kingdom.
I want to be part of you!
But I lay here, lonely.
Unsatisfied.
Alone.
I am here, and you are here for me.
Lonely.
