I am

I am the lonely darkness
I wonder who I really am
I hear the empty air
I see people ignoring me
I want acceptance
I am the lonely darkness.

I pretend to listen to the problems of others
I feel the lamentations of being alone
I touch the eaves of loneliness
I worry of being alone
I cry when loneliness has taken me
I am the lonely darkness.

I understand I am different
I say life is believable
I dream of a life of compatriots
I try to normalize
I hope the light i’ve never seen will come to me
I am the lonely darkness.
